We are excited about our Vacation Bible School this year. We began Monday night at 7PM with 95 boys and girls and it has grown to 120 last night. God has used the men to powerfully proclaim the Gospel Message and so far we have seen many boys and girls trust Christ as their Saviour.
The Missionary story each night is a real blessing. Each Night Amanda Danyluk is teaching about the life of Jim Elliot, which she has put together from his autobiographies. The boys and girls are listening very closely each night, and we are praying that they receive the greatest message from this story, trusting the Lord Jesus Christ with your life and investing in Heaven. It is a real blessing for me to listen and learn from this great man of God. I am reminded of that great truth, “He is no fool to give what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.” Help each of us at VBS to live this great truth each day.
We had a privilege of seeing several parents come to VBS so far. The message that we have heard each night is a message for them as well. We are praying that each parent will also see their need of Trusting the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. What a great year it would be for their family. The parents seem to be following along with the program – laughing with the puppets and following the Bible lesson. Please pray that God would get a hold of their hearts and they would be saved.
I have come to the conclusion that Vacation Bible School is a lot of work. The preparation, planning and people to do the job is extensive. There is much still to do, yet I am glad to be a part of a church that is interested in the children of our society. God loved them very much ad we must also have a heart for them. Jesus said it in Mark 10:14 “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Please pray with me as we finish up Vacation Bible school ‘09 at Kitchener Baptist Church.
